As US MRKT approaches its App launch date, I’d like to focus on the potential for Sales Associate (SA) enrollment on a country by country basis. Since USmrkt.com and the App will be launched in English and Spanish, I thought it would be a good idea to focus on certain countries initially.
In Colombia, as of November 2015, there were more than 24 million active Colombian Facebook accounts, primarily of users between the ages of 15 and 35. YouTube is also popular, and it has been estimated that Colombians watch 126 videos per month on average. WhatsApp has recently taken a dominant position with its messenger app being used by 89% of internet users. Further, in Colombia the device that dominates is the mobile device (with 75% of 16 to 24 year old choosing mobile).
Clearly, the popularity of mobile fits nicely as a potential driver for the US MRKT SA App, which will undoubtedly lead to rapid expansion of the US MRKT application in Colombia. This is based on a combination of factors including the ability to earn commissions in US dollars, with a rapidly expanding middle class and an overall expanding population of mobile phone users. In 2015, there were 32.4 million users and by 2020 that number is expected to grow to 35.4 million. Even then, by 2020, that market penetration is at approximately 60%, meaning significant penetration upside going forward after 2020 and beyond.
US MRKT considers Colombia a positive market for immediate activation going forward concurrent with the launch of the USmrkt.com App.
